Hekks Factory is a level-based puzzle game with a unique mechanical and magical aesthetic. I am responsible for all of the audio assets, including sound effects and music, as well as the audio implementation using FMOD in Unity. I recorded various mechanisms and metallic objects to create the soundscape of the game. I composed the music in REAPER, aiming to capture the idea of mystical automation through metallic percussion and airy synths.
There’s Something There is a game I developed in one month as a class final. I did all of the pre-production, coding, level design, sound design, and music. This was my first fully-realized game. The audio design is fairly minimal, with overtly constructed synth sounds on both the diegetic and UI elements. This sound design works with the music in creating an abstract, isolating atmosphere, depicting the game world as an overtly constructed reality.
I frequently participate in game jams, where I work with a team to produce a game within a short time limit, usually between 48 and 72 hours. Through these projects, I’ve gained experience in rapid prototyping of game ideas, as well as experience working in frameworks rather than game engines, such as the C# framework MonoGame and the Lua framework Love2D.
